The vision for Calvary Home for Children began in 1992. Members from upstate churches in South Carolina
participated in missions trips to a children's home in Columbus, Mississippi. Burdened by the increase in child
abuse and abandonment incidences in South Carolina, this group of men and women had a vision to see similar work in
the Upstate.
In the first quarter of 1998, a Board of Directors for Calvary Home was formed consisting of leaders from local churches
and businesses. This board oversees this ministry which offers a Christ-Centered home and the hope of Christ to children
without hope.
