One of our sets of houseparents not only care for the needy children in our community, but they also lead and pastor a local church in Anderson. Many months ago a church member reached out for help with her two boys. She bravely asked to place them at Calvary Home - a safe place for them while she works on changing her life. Calvary Home had space to receive the two boys. Our houseparents are able to work with all members of the family and provide support through both of their community roles.
Here's what the mother said about the impact our houseparents are making on her family: "My boys and I are growing so strong in this place. I love my church family. There is so much support here. I have been through a lot in my life. More in the last 9 months of my life and Pastor Eugene and Sallie have really inspired me and pushed me to be a better person and to believe that no matter what, God has me. Thank you guys from the bottom of my heart." So many blessings!
Another partnership we have that has returned many blessings is with the Junior League of Anderson County. These fun and charitable women focused on getting our kids active by donating brand new sporting equipment to allow for basketball, disc golf, and soccer on our campus. They even provided scholarships for our children to go to tennis camp at Brookstone Meadows. We are so grateful for their investment in our children's health!
