Colossians 3:15 states, "Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful."
It is so easy to allow fear and anxiety to consume our thoughts. But as believers, we have something greater to hold on to which will carry us through this season. During this time of uncertainty for our community, and our world, it is important for us to take a moment to thank God for His many blessings on our lives. When we continuously thank and praise God, our hearts will ultimately point back to Him and His character of goodness.
Check out our current list of 10 things we're thankful for at Calvary Home this week:
1-School lunches being delivered on bright yellow buses.
2- Sidewalk chalk and water guns
3- Every child on campus received a bike this past Christmas
4- Foster parents who are in community together. While searching for milk and other groceries this past week, they were all calling each other to let them know which stores had what food. As you can imagine, feeding a house full of teenagers when the stores are running low on supplies can lead to a lot of anxiety. But our foster parents worked together to make sure each family was well covered and prepared.
5- Two new children being placed in the White Cottage last week. Taking on extra children during all this chaos is exactly why Calvary Home exists.
6- Milk and Fruit deliveries
7- A few days of good weather
8- The school teachers of Anderson District 5 and our wonderful tutors who continue to pour knowledge and encouragement into our children.
9- As families, we're still able to live, love, laugh and have fun with each other.
10- Most importantly, we're thankful that God's character never changes.
So, friends, I encourage you to take some time and create your own list reflecting God's goodness in your life. If you want to share, I would love to read your list, you never know who it will inspire!
