Living Out Our Family Focus
Sharon, our Ministry Assistant, and her husband, Robert, cutting their wedding cake
One of the greatest joys of our ministry is the way God has shaped us into a true family. Recently, we had the privilege of celebrating a very special moment together: the wedding of one of our own staff members. What made the day so meaningful wasn’t just the beautiful ceremony or the joy of seeing two lives joined in covenant—it was the way every member of our team showed up to support, encourage, and celebrate together.
At our core, we believe ministry is more than programs and lessons—it’s about relationships. We often tell the kids and families we serve that they are not alone, that they belong, and that they are part of a bigger family. But moments like this remind us that we don’t just say we’re family-focused—we live it, day by day.
By standing alongside each other in life’s big milestones and in the everyday moments, we are modeling for the children and families in our care what it truly means to walk in love, unity, and support. This wedding celebration was another beautiful reminder that when one of us rejoices, we all rejoice together.
Many of the children on our campus had never been to a wedding and they were so thrilled to celebrate with someone they love and respect. They cherished the time to get dressed up and see their campus friends and their Calvary family all together. Sharon, the bride and our ministry assistant, took extra care to have coloring sheets and activities for all 40 children in attendance because they are a beloved part of her life.
As we continue in this season if celebration, we are grateful for the bond God has given us—not only as coworkers, but as brothers and sisters in Christ. And we are excited to keep sharing that same spirit of family with every child, teen, and parent we serve.
